Two of the oldest towns in Eagle County. South of Vail, Minturn and Red Cliff were integral in the late 1800’s at the boom of the Colorado mining period. Situated on the Eagle River and surrounded by national forest there are several outdoor activities right out your back door.
Primarily developed as a railroad town in the late 1800’s. During Colorado’s mining boom, it was an essential crossroads for the mountain railroad system. Today Minturn’s quaint shops and old Colorado architecture offers a peek at the past while the town bustles with live music, farmers market and festivals. Mainly composed of older single – family homes there are a handful of townhomes as well.
Eagle County’s oldest town! Located at 8,650 feet above sea level, Red Cliff boomed at the turn of the century as a mining town with saloons, a bank, sawmills and even an opera house. Today the charming town is a beautiful and quiet respite from the crowds of Vail and Beaver Creek. Mostly single – family homes there are a few newer townhomes that make up this small community.
